To establish a hiking and, where appropriate, a biking and 

horseback riding trail, known as the Elk Neck Trail - 
in a way that -

• Respects the environment, wildlife and landowners · 

• Provides a safe, clearly marked trail · 

• Utilizes community volunteers and financing · 

• Follows accepted standard trail procedures
  

So that all trail enthusiasts will be able to enjoy the approximately  

twelve miles of panoramic views provided by nature and the 

Chesapeake Bay headwaters, from the historic Turkey Point Light 

House to the Mason Dixon Trail located in the Elk Neck State Forest.
